The Recce Special Purpose Rifle (SPR) was designed by Charlie Melton (CMP) and his former SDVT-1 teammate and G2 Precision Co-Founder, Garrett Golden. It is loosely based on the highly popular rifle MK12 SPR developed by the Naval Special Warfare Center (NSWC) and used extensively by SOCOM operators. The Mk12 is one of the preferred weapons of Navy SEALs and the special operations community. The product naming convention pays homage to the Tier 1 snipers, who are referred to as Recce Operators and is an acronym for reconnaissance. The rifle is a sub-MOA rifle and with high-quality match-grade ammo, has been known to shoot 1/4 MOA.
