Description
The G2 Precision Recce Rifle Gen III is a modern Special Purpose Rifle (SPR) built for shooters who value precision, consistency, and thoughtful component selection. Designed by Charlie Melton (CMP) and G2 Precision Co-Founder Garrett Golden, the Recce platform reflects a refined approach to the classic SPR concept, emphasizing quality materials and careful assembly.
Constructed on mil-spec forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers with a Type III hard anodized finish, the Recce Gen III offers a durable and reliable foundation. Ambidextrous controls, including a G2 Precision ambi selector and ambi charging handle, provide adaptable handling for a wide range of users.
At the center of the rifle is an 18″ carbon fiber reinforced 416R stainless steel barrel chambered in .223 Wylde, allowing the use of both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. The barrel features a 1:8 twist, single-cut 4-groove rifling, and a rifle-length gas system. It is match grade and hand-lapped to support consistent accuracy. A G2 Precision / Crux Suppressors flash hider is installed with standard 1/2″-28 threading.
The rifle is equipped with a G2 Precision nickel boron bolt carrier group and a TriggerTech two-stage trigger set at approximately 2/3 lbs, providing a clean and predictable trigger feel. A 15″ G2 Precision M-LOK handguard, skeletonized for heat dissipation while maintaining structural integrity, allows for flexible accessory mounting.
The Recce Gen III is finished with a Magpul Mil-Spec STR stock and ERGO Grip AT, resulting in a balanced and comfortable shooting platform suitable for precision-focused applications.
